About GPS Insight:
GPS Insight is the leader in GPS Tracking from a technology standpoint. Our robust product truly does more than any other product on the market, and can be rapidly adapted to virtually any tracking requirement our customers may have. We continually improve the product based on customer requirements, and have sold over 20,000 tracking devices to our customers since we were founded 5 years ago. Major customers include State of Oklahoma, EMCOR, City and County of San Francisco, Ahern Rentals, Wright Tree Service, State of Georgia, Murphy Brown (Smithfield Foods), Red Bull, and over a thousand others.
About Rob Donat
I have 2 boys (9 & 7) and one daughter (4) and my wife and I live in Scottsdale where GPS Insight is headquartered (our 30+ employees are located here, as well as in 3 other offices and a few home-based locations across the country). I graduated from the University of Illinois, spent some time on active duty in the Army and then in the Guard as an Artillery Officer, held some high tech, database administration/management jobs, and completed 2 graduate degrees in Finance and Computer Science at DePaul in Chicago. I started Sedonatech, a consulting company in 2000, and consulted to Hedge Funds and Dot-Com’s for years, eventually moving from Chicago to Scottsdale. At that point, I founded GPS Insight. We leverage several key partners’ hardware devices, which leaves us free to innovate on the software, usability, and ROI side for our customers. We do quite a bit of customization for customers, which keeps things interesting. Aside from work, my family and I like to run, ski, bike, and travel when the kids are out of school. I find this blog a great mechanism for sharing what I’ve learned about GPS through GPS Insight with the community, whether they are buying, selling, developing, or just interested in this powerful technology.
